Create a Legacy Wall in your Home
Hello from quarantine!
I don't know about you, but I have spent some time organizing my home during this period. One of the special things I came across was a box of old photos of my parents, grandparents and ancestors. Since having our twins, I started adding their framed prints going up the staircase, but it will take years to fill up that space. Smaller frames will help fill in the spaces and provide the perfect home for the delicate prints of family members.
I've rounded up some of my favorite photos of family photo gallery walls along with some tips to put it together. If you have a family photo gallery wall, please share it with me! I would love to see how you arranged your photos and what kind of frames you used.
Don't forget to include yourself in some of these frames. Your children will look for photos of you - what will they find? If you don't have a photo that you love of yourself, let me make a portrait of you looking your best and proudly display it on your wall. I also offer generation portraits of you and all of your loved ones.
Determine your layout first.
Mock up the placement on a clean floor. Start with the largest frames, then fill in the space with smaller pieces.
Keep the middle of the grouping at eye level, roughly 60 inches from the center to the floor.
Use matching frames for a modern, cohesive look or mix and match frame styles for an eclectic look.
